Touchpad Right Click does not work on GNU Linux
Issue
Nothing happens when you press the lower right corner of the touchpad. This behaviour has been reported on Lenovo T440s under Ubuntu.
Solution
Well, actually it might not really be issue. By default, right click seems to have been set to Double Finger press. So if this works, the solution is rather simple, should you still want to use different areas of the touchpad.
Open a command prompt and install Gnome Tweaks
sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool
Open Gnome Tweaks (often simply labled as Tweaks)
Go to Keyboard & Mouse and select Area
Here is the description of the different options (although the middle click didn’t work for me)
- Finger: Use two fingers for right click, three for middle click
- Area: Use right side of the touchpad for right click, and center for the middle click (or wheel click)
- Disable: Disable touchpad (obviously)
