Scan for enabled SSL or TLS ciphers on a computer port using NMap
Issue
You want to scan an open port to know which SSL or TLS ciphers are in use.
Solution
Install NMap utility
Run the following command, where PORTNUMBER is replaced by the actual port number and HOSTNAME by the name of the target computer. Do no use the simple quotes around HOSTNAME is you specify an IP address instead of a DNS hostname.
nmap --script ssl-cert,ssl-enum-ciphers -p PORTNUMBER `HOSTNAME`
