Burn an ISO image on Linux using command line
You can use a tool called wodim which is not include by default in most distros.
Installation on Debian packages based distro (eg: Ubuntu)
sudo apt-get install wodim
You need to get the device name to write the image file on. You can do so by running the following command :
wodim –devices
You will get an output like this one ;
wodim: Overview of accessible drives (1 found) :
————————————————————————-
0 dev=’/dev/sg1′ rwrw– : ‘hp’ ‘DVD A DH16ABLH’
————————————————————————-
Finally, run the following command where dev matches you CD/DVD drive as shown above.
wodim -v speed=1 dev=/dev/sg1 -eject <path_to_ISO_image>
